NZNO Centennial 1909-2009
|

 |
the organisation that would later become New Zealand Nurses Organisation was formed. The Trained Nurse Association met for the first time in Wellington in 1905. Following that meeting associations formed in three other provinces:
- Dunedin in 1907
- Christchurch in 1908
- Auckland in 1908
In 1908 the first issue of Kai Tiaki was published and in 1909 the four Trained Nurses Associations agreed to amalgamate and become one national body - NZNO traces its foundation back to those organisations.
the New Zealand Nurses Organisation will be 100 years old.
We invite you to take part in the planning process by contributing your ideas for celebrating in 2009. |

Draft plans from this meeting were discussed at the NZNO Board of Directors meeting in August (see report below). These plans are now being explored in more detail, for example regarding costings.
