Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand prepares for its centenary
Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand will celebrate its centenary in January next year and, to mark this milestone, is announcing two prestigious centennial awards, each valued at $2000. Recruitment company Nurse at Call is sponsoring a 4000-word report on a contemporary clinical research study, and Healthstaff Recruitment is sponsoring a 2000-word essay on the importance of writing for publication.
The winning entries will be published in the special centennial edition of Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand, which will be a high-quality production honouring the magazine’s role in recording NZNA/NZNO, nursing and social history.
Co-editors Anne Manchester and Teresa O’Connor urged nurses to support the awards, entries for which close on September 30. “These are major awards to mark a significant milestone in New Zealand’s nursing history, and we are very grateful to the sponsors,” they said.
The special centennial edition of Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand will be delivered to all NZNO members, and will also be available for purchase.
“We are intent on producing a valuable, enduring, high-quality publication that will capture something of the evolution of our profession and our society,” Manchester and O’Connor said.
