Nursing Midwifery Advisory Committee (NMAC)
Members of the Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Committee (NMAC) are nurses and midwives elected by the members of NZNO to advise, inform and make recommendations, to the Board of Directors (BOD), concerning specific social, cultural, economic, industrial and political issues as they impact on health, professional nursing and midwifery practice.

Quality systems and safety culture for nurses, midwives and health care workers
The Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Committee have revised the booklet, 'Quality systems and safety culture for Nurses, Midwives and health care workers'. This replaces the Quality Management Resource Booklet.
We want to ensure that it is useful and readable so we NZNO Membersto respond to the changes we have made.

NMAC*:
- is proactive in raising issues that effect standards of professionalism in nursing and midwifery and bring these to the NZNO Board of Directors.
- ensures that views of NZNO members are considered on social, cultural, economic, industrial and political platforms related to health, nursing and midwifery professional practice, services, employment, research and education as directed by the BOD.
- ensures that policies, position statements and advice of NMAC are based on current research and contemporary practice.
- administers the Florence Nightingale Memorial Fund.
