Purpose of the PHC Nurses Advisory Council

• Provide nursing leadership and strategic direction
  
• To develop core PHC nursing policy documents including:
• standards of practice for PHC nurses
• education and career framework for PHC nurses
• a credentialling framework for PHC nurses
  
• Promulgate and advocate the NZNO PHC nursing vision and policies at all levels of policy development and implementation
  
• Establish mechanisms by which PHC nursing developments can be shared
  
• Establish itself as the creditable voice for PHC nursing within New Zealand
  
• Provide advice to the staff person assigned to reviewing the pilot and determining future development proposals
