Philosophy
A specialty, professional organisation dedicated to the provision of leadership, support, education and professional development of Practice Nurses in New Zealand.

Goals
GOAL ONE:
Primary health nurses are a united and integrated group that includes nurses with an aim to share and strengthen resources within local nursing networks to promote change, nursing leadership and advocacy for the communities and populations with whom they work
GOAL TWO:
Primary health nurses will have industrial parity and alignment with other professional groups, e.g. teachers, police, to promote and facilitate access for primary health nurses to a professional practice environment.
GOAL THREE:
Primary health nurses will participate in and maintain clinical and educational advancement activities to ensure excellent nursing service provision to the communities and populations with whom they work.
GOAL FOUR:
Primary health nurses’ knowledge and expertise is recognised and utilised in health policy and decision making at local, regional and national levels to promote and enable improvement of the health of New Zealanders.
