NZCPN Fledgling Primary Health Nurse Award

The New Zealand College of Practice Nurses, NZNO is pleased to be able to offer this award to demonstrate their support for Primary Health Nursing and Post Graduate Primary Health nursing studies. Each year, for the next 5 years, an award of $1500 will be offered. The intention is to bestow recognition on a Primary Health Nurse who is new to primary health nursing, is developing his/her practice and is making a significant nursing contribution to primary health nursing, and is or will be undertaking post-graduate studies in primary health nursing.

OBEX Advancing Education Practice Nurse Awards
The award value is $1,500 to be used for educational purposes
OBEX has generously offered to sponsor practice nurses advancing education with an annual $1,500 scholarship for the next five years:
- To assist practice nurses and practice nurse educators to attend seminars and conferences relating to their scope of practice, by helping with course or seminar fees, travel or accommodation expenses or
- To help towards costs of postgraduate courses, both university and non-university i.e. fees and/or textbooks etc, relating to their scope of practice in practice nursing / practice nurse education in the primary health care environment.
The winning nurse will present a paper of no more than 10 minutes duration at the annual NZ College of Practice Nurse, NZNO conference focusing on clinical practice issues, initiatives or projects or professional development topics that are relevant to practice nursing.
NB: Applications to be received by the NZCPN secretary no later than 60 days prior to the next NZ College of Practice Nurses AGM.

Tall Poppy Award

The Tall Poppy Aware has offered a $500 scholarship to be awarded each year for a period of five years. Diane Newland is the current sponsor for this outstanding Tall Poppy award. Diane currently works for the Midland DHBs implementing recommendations from regional service plans for the cardiac, renal and diabetes service areas. I am also an active member of the Tauranga Division, and truly believe a primary health care nurses deserve to be recognised, and through this award be acknowledged formally.
The intention of this aware is to bestow recognition on a primary health care nurse who is developing his/her practice but has not received any recognition by way of other awards or funding. The winner of this aware will be chosen from the written nominations and announced at the NZ College of Practice Nurses NZNO annual conference each year.
The winner will receive a $500 scholarship to be put towards professional development eg. conference attendance, ongoing education, study travel.
Self nominations are welcomed.
