Neonatal Nurses College of Aotearoa (NNCA) Scholarship

NNCA make available an annual scholarship to enable nurses to gain further knowledge in the speciality that is neonatal care.

Several types of projects can attract this funding, though each year will have a priority focus. The focus for 2006 was to support a first time overseas presenter of either a paper or poster at an appropriate international nursing conference.

Applications close on 31st August 2008.

    If no funds are awarded, funds will be made available again the following year. (No more than 2 years accumulation).

Neonatal Nurses College of Aotearoa (NNCA) Professional Development Grant

NNCA are pleased to make available to their members a Professional Development Grant.

Purpose of the Grant

To assist resident New Zealand neonatal nurses in attending seminars and conferences relating to their scope of practice, by contributing towards course of seminar fees, travel or accommodation expenses.

To assist with the cost of postgraduate courses, both university and non-university ie. fees and / or textbooks etc, relating to their scope of practice.

Criteria for grant application

The applicant must be a member of NZNO and a full member of the NNCA section of NZNO for the past two years.
Applications must be on the official application form.
If available, a copy of the conference, seminar or course information should accompany the application.
Presentation of findings from activity should be offered at the annual conference and/or written for inclusion into the NNCA newsletter, Kai Tiaki or other relevant journal.
At a minimum, written presentations will be within 3 months of attending or completing the activity for which the grant was used.
The succcessful applicant should use the funding within the allocated financial year. Retrospective applications for funding however will also be considered.
Applications will be assessed by the NNCA executive committee.
Applications should be submitted prior to the closing date advertised.
Successful applicants will be notified in writing.
In the event of multiple applications a ballot will be held.
