Tracey Bruce – Chairperson

I am currently working in paediatric’s medical and HDU at Christchurch Hospital. I have a passion for clinical research on the floor, having done my thesis on nCPAP and bronchcolitis.

Erin Beatson – Secretary

I am a RN, RM currently employed with the Plunket Society as Clinical Advisor. My nursing background has largely been in child and maternal health in the community setting.

Linda Hogg - Treasurer

I see myself as a child/young person and family advocate. I work part time in a children’s surgical/CF/ burns ward and part time as the Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Key Worker.

Jill Sye - Committee Member & Discussion Forum Moderator

I registered as a General Obstetric Nurse at Middlemore in 1983. I have worked in a range of paediatric services including neonatal, public health, ambulatory, disability and oncology. I am passionate about improving child health in New Zealand and have a strong interest in children’s rights. Mediating our online forum is my first challenge as a committee member.

Anne Fraser – Committee Member

I have recently returned to New Zealand following 11 years in the UK, where I worked in paediatric Haematology, Oncology and SCT. I currently work as the Clinical Educator for haematology/oncology at the Starship Children’s Health.

Linda Shaw – Committee Member

I am employed as a Team Leader for Healthline a MOH funded 0800 number offering assessment and health information to all New Zealanders 24/7. I have a background in Primary Health with a particular interest in Well child Nursing.

Robyn Kelly – Committee Member

I have worked in paediatrics for the past 22 years and am currently employed as a Paediatric Outreach Nurse based in the Children’s Ward at Southland Hospital working within the hospital and community settings. I have a special interest in oncology and palliative care.

Ruth Crawford – Committee Member

Principal Lecturer, Nursing EIT, Hawkes Bay
RN, Children’s Ward, Hawkes Bay DHB

Ruth Crawford has worked in nursing education since 1994, and is currently teaching in the Post graduate Certificate Child and Family Health, the Post Graduate Diploma and the Master of Nursing programme at EIT Hawke’s Bay. She is working 2 days a week as a registered nurse in the Children’s ward at Hawke’s Bay Regional Hospital. Previously she worked with adolescents at Odyssey House in Auckland. Ruth has a strong interest in child, youth and family health and is a member of Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa. Her masters thesis explored nurses’ understanding of parenting in hospital and her current doctoral work is looking at nursing communication.
