Enabling the Therapeutic Products and Medicines Bill to Allow for the Development of Collaborative Prescribing

13 April 2007

This bill Introduces a third class of prescriptive authority whereby nurses working in collaboration with doctors could prescribe from a specialty range of medications.

NZNO recommendation is that a third level of prescriber class is not introduced, and instead recommends moving NPs to authorised prescriber category and use designated prescriber class for these nurses.
