Co-Editor/Journalist
We are seeking to appoint an experienced editor/journalist for 16 hours per week to support the full-time Co-Editors in their management of the Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand journal and to contribute to the preparation and production of the journal, which is published monthly.
The successful candidate will be involved with:

Planning the themed issues for the magazine on an annual basis, in consultation with staff and members

Commissioning and writing articles
-
Organising regular editorial committee meetings to review submitted clinical articles
-
Taking photographs for the cover and inside the magazine
-
Editing and laying out copy, writing headlines, proof-reading pages
-
Promoting the magazine as an advertising vehicle to potential advertisers
-
Participating in the tendering process for the production contracts
-
Maintaining Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand's Facebook page
-
Writing national office press releases when required
-
Preparing annual budget.
The ideal candidate will be someone who can work in a closely cooperative relationship with fellow co-editors, sharing work and decision making, have confidence in their ability as a journalist and be self-motivated and able to work independently.
