College and Section Newsletters

New Zealand Nurses Organisation's speciality groups and membership structures produce regular newsletters updating members about their activities.

As an NZNO member you can join a maximum of two sections or colleges related to your practice. (Non-NZNO members may be eligible for affiliate membership.)

Colleges

College of Emergency Nurses

College of Emergency Nursing promotes excellence through the development of frameworks for clinical practice, education and research.

The college puts out a quarterly journal Emergency Nurse New Zealand which is available in hard copy to CENNZ members and held by the NZNO library.

The  journal is available electronically via the CINAHL Plus with Fulltext database.  Contact your DHB or Tertiary/University library for assistance to access articles in this database.

College of Primary Health Care Nurses

New Zealand College of Primary Health Care Nurses. The College is a merger of three colleges and sections and is made up of members from the former District Nurses Section (NZNO), Public Health Nurses Section (NZNO) and NZ College of Practice Nurses (NZNO).

LOGIC, the college journal, is published three times per year in February, June and October.

What's on Top is the NZCPHCN monthly newsletter of news and views and Snippets updates members on recent subgroup activites and meetings.

Neonatal Nurses College Aotearoa

Neonatal Nurses College - Aotearoa (NNCA) is a section of the New Zealand Nurses Organisation that promotes the services of neonatal nurses.

The journal Neonatal, Paediatric and Child Health Nursing (NPCHN) is the official journal of the Australian College or Children and Young People's Nurses, Australian College or Neonatal Nurses and the Neonatal Nurses College Aotearoa. It is available online to Neonatal Nurses College Aotearoa members as part of their NZNO membership.

NNCA also puts out a regular newsletter which compliments the Journal and provides a great opportunity for sharing and networking among college members.

Perioperative Nurses College

The Dissector is the college journal and published quarterly.

The Dissector is in Academic OneFile on Gale from March 1, 2011 onwards, and available to all NZNO members via the Online Journals page.

Diabetes Nurse Specialists

The Diabetes Nurse Specialist Section represents nurses working in the area of diabetes health care in New Zealand. Our main aim is to promote, expand and consolidate the role of nurses working in this area, through networking and communication, education, nursing research and the implementation of clinical standards.
