The Smokefree Coalition

The Smokefree Coalition is committed to preventing the uptake of smoking among young people and reducing the smoking rates of all New Zealanders.

Established in 1995, we encourage debate about tobacco control issues.

The Smokefree Coalition provides a collective voice for our members – thirty-eight organisations including the Asthma and Respiratory Foundation, Cancer Society and National Heart Foundation.

The Smokefree Coalition launched its Achieving the Vision 2020 background document Tupeka Kore Aotearoa 2020 Tobacco Free New Zealand 2020 Achieving the Vision in early 2010. Included in the background documents is a timeline outlining the actions necessary to achieve the Vision.

NZNO has been a member of the Smokefree Coalition Tupeka kore tobacco free Aotearoa by 2025 campaign since December 2009 and support the vision for future generations of New Zealand children to be free from exposure totobacco and will enjoy Smokefree lives.  Further information can be found on the Smokefree Coalition website sfc.org.nz
