PSANZ 2024 Congress
The Perinatal Society of Australia & New Zealand (PSANZ) invite NNCA members to support the NZ 2024 PSANZ Congress. The 2024 congress will be in Christchurch at The Christchurch Convention Centre, 7–10 April (Pre-congress is on 5 April).
Theme “Whiria te Tāngata" – "Weave our people together" represents the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of our society woven together by our collective goal to improve the hauora (well-being) of wahine (mother) and pepi (baby).
The congress program will celebrate this theme by bringing together a diverse group of speakers and through addressing a wide range of topics please see link to the programme.
Delegates will include leading Obstetricians, Gynaecologists, Neonatologists, Midwives, Scientists, Therapists, Neonatal Nurses, Epidemiologists, Educators, Psychologists & Dietitians.

Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) Conference
The Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) Conference will be held in Melbourne on Fri 20 & Sat 21 Oct.
The theme for this year is Sustaining Breastfeeding into the Future - Science Skills and Systems.
Our conference will host an array of quality international and local speakers as well as many dynamic oral and poster presentations selected by our scientific committee relevant to one or more of the sub-themes listed below.
- Original investigative research studies related to breastfeeding, lactation and human milk
- clinical skills for supporting breastfeeding mothers and babies, including case studies
- supporting lactation and breastfeeding into the future
- understanding the science of lactation
- enabling the skills of breastfeeding
- supportive systems for maintaining optimal infant feeding
- breastfeeding exclusivity and duration
- issues related to donor milk and expressed milk
- evidence to inform breastfeeding policies.

Keynote Speakers
Karleen Gribble BRurSc Phd is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Western Sydney University. Her interests include infant and young child feeding in emergencies, regulation of the marketing of breastmilk substitutes, child rights, adoption reform, and treatment of infants within child protection, immigration detention, and criminal justice systems.
Catherine Watson Genna BS, IBCLC is in private practice in New York City since 1992. She is particularly interested in dyads with medical challenges to breastfeeding. In addition to mentoring lactation interns, she uses her clinical photos and videos in presentations to healthcare professionals on assisting breastfeeding babies with anatomical, genetic or neurological problems around the world. Catherine participates in a research collaborative with Columbia University and Tel Aviv University Departments of Biomedical Engineering, investigating biomechanics of the lactating nipple and aspects of sucking and swallowing in breastfeeding infants.

NZBA Special General Meeting
NZBA members are invited to attend a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETNG on 15 September 2023 at noon on Zoom.
This meeting is held under Section 9.2 of the NZBA Rules 2022, and seeks endorsement of the NZBA Rules August 2023 sent by email.
The attachments outline why we need an SGM and amendment to the Rules, show the NZBA Rules amendments as tracked changes to the key clauses and show the Proposed Rules August 2023 in full.
