Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses Scholarship

The Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses (ACDN) has established educational scholarships to assist nurses to attend or participate in events related to diabetes nursing that will further their knowledge base in their current field of work i.e. workshops, conferences, study days, seminars, post graduate study. The scholarships can also be used to cover the cost of the Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses accreditation application.

Scholarship applications are considered twice yearly, and must be submitted on the ACDN Scholarship Application form before the closing date of each round i.e. 1600hrs on either the 28th February or 31st July.

Up to $6,000 per annum (two rounds of up to $3,000) may be allocated for scholarships/grants at the discretion of the ACDN National Executive Committee. The maximum scholarship/grant will be $750.00 per person or $100.00 towards an accreditation application.

Scholarship applications must be submitted on the NZNO Aotearoa College of Diabetes Nurses Scholarship Application Form.

 

McCutchan Trust Scholarship (Nursing Education and Research Foundation)

The Nursing Education and Research Foundation has the following scholarship available.

Scholarships and grants may be made for any one or more of the following purposes:

  1. To assist individuals to gain a higher qualification after their basic preparation, including specialization in a clinical field. Scholarships or grants may be made to cover costs to enable them to study, practice or carry out research.
  • Note: higher qualification at post graduate certificate (level 800) or above. Would include research, practicum, travel, equipment, supervision costs (see below). Graduate certificate (level 700) would not be a higher qualification and therefore not eligible for funding.
  1. To facilitate nursing research either in New Zealand or overseas by an applicant whose research will benefit nursing in New Zealand.
  2. To provide resource material.
  3. To enable seminars to be held in New Zealand and may include the cost of bringing experts from within New Zealand (or from overseas) to teach or participate at such seminars.
  4. To assist in completing and/or publishing any thesis or study.
    • Note: Does not have to be specific to enrolment in a course of study.
  • Scholarships or grants may be awarded or given to cover costs, expenses or fees related or incidental to the purpose or purposes of the trust.  Such costs, expenses or fees may include those related to travelling, accommodation, acquisition of study or research material and hireage.

Diabetes Nurse Education Scholarship Fund 2016/17 sponsored by Pharmaco and Novo Nordisk

ACDN gratefully acknowledge the contribution of Pharmaco and Novo Nordisk towards diabetes nurse education, and via the 'Diabetes Nurse Education Scholarship Fund 2016/17.'

Applications for the Diabetes Nurse Education Scholarship Fund 2016/17 should be submitted on the ACDN Scholarship Application Form (above); the National Committee will then consider and determine the appropriate source of funding for your request.
