Feedback to Jill Clendon Nursing Policy Advisor/Researcher jillc@nzno.org.nz by

27 Nov 2012

NZNO is committed to the representation of members and the promotion of nursing and midwifery. NZNO provides professional leadership and advice in a range of areas.

The first draft of the NZNO education policy document was consulted on in May 2012 and a range of comprehensive feedback was received from members as well as other groups.  This feedback has been analysed and a number of changes made to the original document.

The new draft has been narrowed down to the following key areas and you may wish to provide feedback on one or several of these areas – a feedback form is found at the end of this document:

  • General statements:
    • Recruitment into the profession
    • The internationally qualified workforce
    • Partnership
    • Academic staff
    • Interprofessional/interdisciplinary education
    • Access to information technology in the workplace
  • Undergraduate programmes
    • Fewer curricula
    • Curricula content
    • Clinical placements
  • Post registration education
    • Professional development
    • Post graduate education
  • Enrolled nurses
  • Career pathways

The document is also available on the NZNO website and a discussion forum has been established to promote feedback and discussion.

The forum is available at: http://www.nzno.org.nz/activities/education/nursing_education_discussion_forum/afv/topicsview/aff/105 and provides specific threads for you to provide feedback on each topic.

We encourage you to use the forum and look forward to a lively and informative discussion developing.

Feedback is also welcome through the usual email route by 27 November 2012 to jillc@nzno.org.nz.
