ICN Call for Nominations


The New Zealand Nurses’ Organisation (NZNO) received a request from the International Council of Nurses (ICN) for President and Members of the ICN Board of Directors.  NZNO is now calling for applications from members who are interested in having their names considered for these position. 

All applications, including a brief CV, are to be forwarded electronically to hayleem@nzno.org.nz and must be received by 31st January 2012.

Applications will be reviewed by an NZNO selection panel.  All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the NZNO selection process within a fortnight of the closing date.  NZNO supported application(s) will be forwarded directly, with a cover letter of support, to the International Council of Nurses by the due date.

The experience and skills expected of the applicant include:

  • Be a nurse who meets the ICN definition of nurse according to the ICN Constitution, Article 6
  • Be a member of an ICN member association
  • Have consented in writing to serve if elected
  • Be fluent (verbal and written in one of the three ICN working languages: English, French, Spanish
  • Be nominated for only one position on the Board of Directors (ie President or Board Member)
