“Introducing Aromatherapy in Palliative Care” is suitable for anyone who is a Healthcare or Allied Health professional looking to enhance the quality of life of those in their care.
The programme includes:
- A global overview of how aromatherapy is used within Hospice and palliative care settings
- A closer look at what essential oils and botanical hydrosols are, and the common methods of extraction.
- Issues of essential oil/hydrosol safety, toxicity and storage
- Profiles of 8 essential oils suitable for use within this area are discussed in detail.
Several practical sessions explore the art of essential oil blending suitable for the palliative care setting using aromatic inhalation and dermal absorption methods.
Comprehensive notes will be provided, and participants will make two personalised aromatherapy blends to take home.
