Applications closed 19 September 2025

Dallas Jessiman Award

  • 1 x up to $500
  • Awarded to a Perioperative Nurse who is a member of the College and is attending the College Biennial conference for the first time
  • Drawn by ballot at the biennial conference Annual General Meeting, which applicants must attend
  • The recipient will write a resume of the educational benefits of the programme they attended at the conference, which will be published in The Dissector Journal
  • Get the application form on the NZNO Scholarships and Grants page
  • Send your completed application form and any supporting information to the College National Secretary at periop.awards@gmail.com

Award for best article in The Dissector journal

  • 1 x up to $1000
  • Awarded to the author of the best article contributed to and published in The Dissector journal
  • All articles published in the current membership years' journal issues will be included in the judging
  • The judging panel will be determined by the College's Editorial Committee
  • The recipient will be announced at AGM and duly notified
  • Get guidelines and the application form on the NZNO Scholarships and Grants page

Award for the best article by a novice writer in The Dissector journal

  • 1 x up to $750
  • Awarded to a first time author of the best article contributed to and published in The Dissector journal
  • All articles published in the current membership years' journal issues will be included in the judging
  • ​The judging panel will be determined by the College's editorial committee
  • The recipient will be announced at AGM and duly notified
  • Get guidelines and the application form on the NZNO Scholarships and Grants page

Catherine Logan Memorial Award

  • 1 x up to $500
  • Award for a PNC member undertaking postgraduate study with a perioperative focus
  • Applicants must supply proof of enrolment in their postgraduate study
  • Judging panel will be determined by the College's National Committee

  • Send your completed application form and any supporting information to the College National Secretary at periop.awards@gmail.com

Debbie Booth Award

  • 1 x up to $1,500 and 1 x up to $500 (runner-up)
  • Awarded to the best perioperative practice focused paper presented at the Free Paper Session at the Biennial Conference.

  • Papers to be made available for publication in The Dissector Journal

Christina (Tina) Ackland Memorial Education Award for Services to Perioperative Nursing

  • 1 x up to $750
  • This award is to acknowledge an individual Perioperative Nurses College member for their outstanding service to the perioperative community
  • Approval of the person being nominated does not have to be sought by the nominator
  • Judging panel will be determined by the College's National Committee

  • Proposal to be on a subject relevant to perioperative nursing care, education, research or management
  • The recipient is expected to submit an article for The Dissector Journal based on their learning experience
