Research request: Invitation to participate in research:
Organisational leadership investment across Aotearoa New Zealand; Exploring the experiences of midwifery leaders

Kia ora e te whānau

As a midwife and Master of Health Service Management student at Massey University, I am conducting an online survey exploring leadership development pathways for midwifery leaders in Aotearoa New Zealand and would like to invite you to participate.

This study has been approved by the Massey University Human Ethics Committee for three years on 16/06/2026 (Reference number 4000032286).

The online survey aims to explore the experiences of midwives transitioning into leadership roles, including the opportunities, supports, and challenges encountered, as well as perceptions of organisational investment in leadership development. Your participation will help build a clearer understanding of leadership pathways and inform future workforce and leadership development within midwifery in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Midwives who currently hold a formal midwifery leadership role in Aotearoa New Zealand are invited to participate. The survey is anonymous and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

The Participant Information Sheet and study advertisement are attached to provide further information about the study and what participation involves. If you would like to participate, please click on the following link: https://massey.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5o2nawx1gBQD4Uu

Closing date: Sunday 16th August
