Successful applicants will receive an email with a link to sign up for the self-directed learning once your place has been confirmed. You will also receive a workbook.
Applications must be in by 9 October. Successful applicants will be confirmed with your CNM/ Nurse Educator.
FINE Level 1 is a fantastic course that supports neonatal nurses to provide developmentally supportive care to this vulnerable population. Thereby providing neuroprotection to support best outcomes for neonates.
NNCA Knowledge and Skills Framework
It is with pleasure that we are now able to introduce the new K&S framework in draft form as passed by NNCA members at the 2014 AGM.
The framework will be submitted to the Feb 2015 NZNO Board meeting for approval. The NNCA committee will then apply to the National Nursing Consortium for national endorsement of the framework.
NNCA has produced a tool for evidence collection with the specific objective of guiding and supporting you performance review, audit or portfolio preparation.
In recent year’s knowledge and skill framework documents have been developed for a number of nursing specialties within New Zealand. Over the past 2 years a small working party with neonatal nurse educator, nurse manager and neonatal nurse specialist members has been working hard to develop a professional knowledge and skills framework to provide NZ neonatal nurses with a professional development pathway that recognises our unique knowledge and skills. The aim of the document is to guide the compilation of specialty specific evidence which can then be used when challenging PDRP or providing practice examples for performance reviews as well as providing a transferable record of your neonatal knowledge and skill in practice when moving between DHB's within NZ.
The document is designed to be separated out into sections which can then be completed in smaller more manageable parts to target the appropriate practice level. Don't let the size of the document scare you, the intention is not to make extra work for you but rather to guide the collection of neonatal focused evidence to expedite the preparation of portfolios and appraisals or audits.
