Change the Government policy remit ballot result

Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa NZNO is announcing the result of an all-member ballot on a policy remit raised at its Annual General Meeting in September.

NZNO Chief Executive Paul Goulter says as a member-led organisation, NZNO is guided by the direction of our members, through their delegates and elected national executive and Te Poari representatives.

"A ballot of all members on a policy remit submitted by Pōneke Wellington Local Organising Group “That NZNO supports a change of government at the 2026 General Election” closed at midday today.

" The final result was 3,527 votes FOR the remit.  There were 816 votes AGAINST the remit, and 332 abstentions.   The voter return was 7.17%, being 4,675 votes received from 65,183 eligible voters.

"Under the NZNO constitution, all member votes on remits must be open for 30 days. Thank you to all members who participated in this ballot," Paul Goulter says.
