Governance

Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa: The New Zealand Nurses Organisation  (NZNO) has a Constitution which determines the rules and regulations of the organisation. The organisation has a President and Kaiwhakahaere elected in accordance with the Constitution as the joint heads of NZNO.

The Governance Structures of NZNO have the AGM and Hui ā-Tau as the highest decision-making authorities of NZNO, subject only to the outcome of a ballot of financial members of NZNO.

Te Poari and the National Executive are accountable to Hui ā-Tau and the AGM respectively. Te Poari and the National Executive have equal status and act independently within their own spheres as defined by the Constitution. The Joint Hui is the combined governance structure of Te Poari and the National Executive.
