1 Births, deaths, marriages, and relationships registration bill This Bill gives effect to 2016 recommendations and responds to three discrete issues raised in the Law Commission’s review of burial and cremation law. The Bill covers reporting and privacy requirements for births, adoptions, name changes, sexual assignment and reassignment, marriages, civil unions, and deaths, including digital and online access. It seeks a balance between efficient public services and third party access. NZNO is seeking member feedback on any issues with nurses’ access to BDM registrations, eg tracing children, gender reassignment etc. and the impact on health. Read the bill here: Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration Bill Feedback due: to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 23 February 2018.
