Consultation on the review of the code for advertising to children and the children's code for advertising food

The ASA is reviewing its Codes for advertising to children under 14 years.  The brief  consultation document  sets out the current Codes and Principles guiding advertising to children and for advertising food to children and asks for information, examples and feedback on a range of questions including ‘health star rating’ systems, sponsorship,  enforcement. This is an important opportunity for nurses to provide input into industry regulation on a key issue affecting public health. You may wish to refer to the Ministry of Health’s  Child Obesity Plan and Informas research.
