The Human Rights (Disability Assist Dogs Non-Discrimination) Amendment Bill 2021

NZNO warmly invites your feedback on proposed amendments to the Human Rights Act 1993 that would replace “guide dog” with the broader term “disability assist dog” as a prohibited ground of discrimination.

The proposed amendments clarify that discriminating against a person for having or using a disability assist dog is discriminating against the person on the basis of their disability.
