Karanga atu, maranga mai!
The identity concept is grounded in the whakataukī:
Mai i te pō, ki te ao – mā te karanga, ka maranga.
From darkness to light – through the call, we rise.
To karanga is to step forward.
To maranga is to rise with purpose.
Luminous koru unfurl in an upwards motion like a beam of light. The design abstractly represents the act from silence into voice, from uncertainty into clarity, from Te Pō into Te Ao Mārama.
This design positions nurses not only as caregivers, but as protectors of dignity, holders of space, and advocates. It acknowledges the courage it takes to stand, speak, and support – especially when doing so shifts long-held silences.
Through the interplay of light, form, and motion, this concept honours the kaupapa of Karanga atu – Maranga mai.
More information on the Conference and AGM will be added as it comes to hand.
