COVID-19 Safety

Our focus is to maintain the hauora of our manuhiri attending the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) Annual General Meeting (AGM), Maranga Mai Day and Conference. Health care, wellbeing, and protection is paramount.

We understand you may be concerned with the high number of attendees. Therefore, we have put in place mandatory process to ensure the health of all attendees during the three day event.

Face Masks

This will be a mandatory masked event where the use of N95 is encouraged. Masks will be provided at the event and must always be worn unless you are presenting, eating or drinking (including at Te Papa cafes). If you have a mask exemption, this must be visible at all times. You will not need to wear your masks in your hotel room.

For more information of face mask wearing and exemption passes please click here.

Social distancing

This is encouraged (1m distance rule) where possible. However, we are conscious that this may not happen while seated (we have eight people seated per table), but we do recommend this during the breaks.  Although we all know we will find it hard not to be excited to see each other, please remember this before kissing and hugging or please be aware that people may feel uncomfortable. It is recommended you check in with the person to see what they are most comfortable with when greeting one another.

Hand sanitizer

Sanitizer will be available on each table to use throughout the weekend, including stationed at entry and exit of Te Papa building.

We require all attendees to complete rapid antigen tests (RATs) prior to arrival to the events, including departure from your home. To read how to take a RATs click here.

Feeling Unwell please stay home

If you are feeling unwell - even if you present a negative RAT test - please stay at home to protect others and offer yourself the best recovery.

If you become unwell or symptomatic during the events, you will be required to take a test. If negative, you will still be required to wear a mask if you choose to continue to attend the proceedings.

If you return a positive result, you must:

  1. Self-isolate in the accommodation provided (hotel, motel room, family, and friends etc). Unfortunately, it is likely you may incur the cost of the room for the 7 days duration. However, we will ensure we find the best way to support you through this until you can return home.
  2. Follow the Ministry of Health reporting RAT result procedure, click here.
  3. Advise the conference organisers by emailing conference@nzno.org.nz

Remember, the Conference will be livestreamed on the conference homepage, so you won’t miss out!

We are very much looking forward to seeing you all and look forward to an inspiring and uplifting series of events.

We’ve got this, we’re all in this together.
