Recent resignations: Board and President

Board Statement: Resignation President Grant Brookes

On 22 April 2020, Grant Brookes resigned from his position as President of NZNO. His last day will be 24 April 2020. The Board is saddened and disappointed that the President has found resignation to be his only option and that differences have now become irreconcilable. The Board wishes to thank Mr Brookes for the energy that he put into his role as President and for his contribution to the organisation. The Board wishes him well in his next endeavours.

The Board will shortly initiate a process for the appointment of a new Vice-President and President and explore all options to ensure good governance continues. The skills and leadership of the Kaiwhakahaere are acknowledged at this time by the Board.

The Board also wishes to recognise the hard work and achievements of all members of the profession during this COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of the Board,

Kerri Nuku, Kaiwhakahaere
New Zealand Nurses Organisation
