The Te Whatu Ora/NZNO Collective Agreement covers Te Whatu Ora employees who are members of NZNO and are employed by Te Whatu Ora in the roles listed as follows or hold a nursing and midwifery position and is required by the employer to be a qualified health professional: Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Registered Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, Registered Obstetric Nurses, Karitane Nurses, Health Care Assistants/ Hospital Aides.
The Primary Health Care Multi Employer Collective Agreement (PHC MECA) covers around 3500 NZNO members including: registered nurses, practice nurses, midwives, enrolled nurses, health care assistants, medical receptionists and administrators.
Age Safe is about improving the quality and safety of aged care in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The Age Safe campaign addresses the issues caused by chronic understaffing in aged care facilities, which impacts both care workers and kaumatua/residents.
Low-paid women across health-care, education and many other sectors were devastated on 8 May, after Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety Brooke Van Velden announced the Government was halting all current pay equity claims — and making it harder to lodge new ones.
An updated remediation schedule has been received from Te Whatu Ora, with further delays for members in some Districts. We have contacted Te Whatu Ora for an explanation but have yet to receive a response. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
