District nurse and New Zealand Nurses Organisation stalwart honoured

16 September 2015 Auckland-based district health nurse, Judy Hattie was honoured for her service to the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) at an awards ceremony in Wellington last night.

NZNO president Marion Guy says, "Judy Hattie's unwavering commitment to working bi-culturally, both in her work and within NZNO is remarkable. We are pleased be able to honour her work with this award."

Judy Hattie has been an NZNO delegate since 2007 and became chair of the College of Primary Health Care Nurses in 2013. Her Māori world view and gentle way of bringing members on the journey to biculturalism has benefitted us all."

"Judy's deep and warm understanding of unionism, professionalism and tikanga is a gift she continues to share with NZNO."
