The New Zealand Nurses organisation made a submission to the Shortages Review Team, Immigration New Zealand, Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, on the annual Review of the Essential Skills in Demand . NZNO recommended that all nursing categories be removed from New Zealand's skills shortages lists.

The New Zealand Nurses organisation made a submission to the Ministry of Health on the Vulnerable Children (Requirements for Safety Checks) Regulations 2015 and Advice for Interpreting and Applying the Regulations

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation made a submission to the Department of Corrections on their consultation document "Lifting Productivity and Performance in New Zealand's Prisons".  NZNO opposes the sudden proposal to reduce prison health staffing and disestablish Regional Health Managers as both are contrary to the  positive moves to improve prisoner health following the recommendations in the Ombudsmans 2012 report: Investigation of the Department of Corrections in relation to the provision, access and availability of prisoner health services.

NZNO expressed its concern about Investor State Dispute Settlement provisions, which enable private investors  to challenge government  regualation, may deter government action  in the best interests of the health of New Zealanders.
