The New Zealand Nurses organisation made a submission to the Shortages Review Team, Immigration New Zealand, Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, on the annual Review of the Essential Skills in Demand . NZNO recommended that all nursing categories be removed from New Zealand's skills shortages lists.

Lifting Productivity and Performance in New Zealand's Prisons

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation made a submission to the Department of Corrections on their consultation document "Lifting Productivity and Performance in New Zealand's Prisons".  NZNO opposes the sudden proposal to reduce prison health staffing and disestablish Regional Health Managers as both are contrary to the  positive moves to improve prisoner health following the recommendations in the Ombudsmans 2012 report: Investigation of the Department of Corrections in relation to the provision, access and availability of prisoner health services.
