Submissions made by NZNO

In accordance with its Strategic Plan, the New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) actively works towards improved health outcomes for all peoples of Aotearoa New Zealand. One of the ways we do this is by making submissions on health- and social policy-related issues.

Essential Skills in Demand Proposal

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation made a submission to the Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment on the proposal by the Shortages Review Committee, Immigration New Zealand, to remove all nursing categories from the Essential Skills in Demand lists except the RN (Mental Health)  category which they propose to keep on the Immediate Skills Shortage List. NZNO supports the removal of all nursing categories without exception, because of the continued failure to invest in New Zealand educated nurses - see earlier submissions.
