Nomination Skills Shortages List

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) made a submission to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment nominating a change to the Registered Nurse (Aged Care) category on the immediate skills shortages list which allows temporary visas for internationally qualified nurses with three years experience in aged care. NZNO submitted that shortages were due to lack of workforce planning, poorer wages and conditions, and that it is important to retain IQN. Zero Carbon Bill Consultation

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) made a submission to the Ministry for the Environment on proposals for a Zero Carbon Bill. NZNO, along with other health sector colleagues, advocated for an ambitious target of net zero emissions across all greenhouse gases by 2040.

UPR UN Convention on the Rights of Children

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) contributed to, and endorses,  the shadow report on the Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children (UNCROC) written by the  Action for Children and Youth Aotearoa coalition. ACYA is a coalition of NGOs and is the UNCROC country focal point.
