United Nations Human Rights Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights- Aotearoa New Zealand

Te Rūnanga o Aotearoa, NZNO contributed to the Aotearoa New Zealand collective shadow report on the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) to the United Nations Human Rights Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.  This report highlighted current issues of pay parity for Māori nurses and Māori health workforce retention and recruitment issues.

MSC Examination Policy & Guidelines - online exam for overseas practitioners.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation provided further feedback on the Medical Sciences Council's consultation document : Examination Policy and Guidelines - a plan to introudce an online examination for the registration of overseas-trained practitioners, including anaesthetic technicians. 

Fruther feedback was provided on the proposed expansion of the AT scope of practice.

Application to PHARMAC to fund menstrual management products in schools

NZNO supported an application to PHARMAC to fund menstrual management products in schools, as a low risk, cost effective primary health care strategy to address poor health and edcuational outcomes for girls who cannot afford them, and to encourage healthy attitudes to and management of menstruation.
