The New Zealand Nurses Organisation Tōpūtanga Tapuhi Kaitiaki o Aotearoa (NZNO) welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the above Proposed Donation and Surrogacy Guidelines: Stage 2 consultation.

Te Rūnanga o Aotearoa, NZNO contributed to the Aotearoa New Zealand collective shadow report on the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) to the United Nations Human Rights Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.  This report highlighted current issues of pay parity for Māori nurses and Māori health workforce retention and recruitment issues. 

The New Zealand Nurses organisation made a submission to the Social Services and Community Committee on the Families Commission Act Repeal Bill.  

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) welcomes the opportunity to comment to the Justice Committee on the End of Life Choice Bill.  NZNO has consulted its members and staff in the preparation of this submission, in particular members of Womens Health, Neonatal Nurses College, Te Rūnanga o Aotearoa and professional nursing and policy advisers.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation provided feedback to PHARMAC on various proposals regarding access to Montelukast tablets; single use instruments and VTE Prevention Products; Sustagen Hospital Formula list price increase; and listing orthopaedic implants and associated products.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation provided further feedback on the Medical Sciences Council's consultation document : Examination Policy and Guidelines - a plan to introudce an online examination for the registration of overseas-trained practitioners, including anaesthetic technicians. 

Fruther feedback was provided on the proposed expansion of the AT scope of practice.

The New Zealand Nurses Organisation made a submission to the Government and Administration Committee on the Births, Death, Marriages and Relationships Bill

NZNO supported an application to PHARMAC to fund menstrual management products in schools, as a low risk, cost effective primary health care strategy to address poor health and edcuational outcomes for girls who cannot afford them, and to encourage healthy attitudes to and management of menstruation.
